Respect Your Elders- Old-School Hip-Hop, by Ravenda Dallah - Host
We are paying tribute to our Hip-Hop's First Artists who are making another milestone next year making it 50 years since DJ Kool Herc & friends created the start of the Hip Hop movement in NYC. His 'Back To School Jam" started in 1973, and kicked off a wave of hip-hop music from various artists who will all claim to be the fathers of hip-hop. Regardless, we have enjoyed the many songs played for our listening and dancing pleasures, while inspiring generations of new artists to keep the phenomenon going.
Join us as we celebrate our historical vestiges in the music from old-school that started it to modern hip-hop continuously expanding into other genres like pop, rock, country, and even classical. Feel free to call in or chat about your personal hip-hop experiences and comments.
